Giving World celebrates after receiving £10k from the Severn Trent Community Fund

Giving World is today celebrating after an award of £10,000 in funding from the Severn Trent Community Fund: Core Funding, to support the charity’s core running costs.

Since 2001 we’ve been on a mission to provide life essentials - like clothing, toiletries and household items - to people living in poverty across the UK.

Shamefully one in every third child in the UK lives below the poverty threshold. That’s 10 in every average classroom going to school hungry, being bullied for wearing an old uniform or missing out on activities with friends.

Giving World helps these families by redistributing surplus goods from businesses to those who need them most, preventing waste, saving and restoring dignity, while stretching incomes.

The new funding from the Severn Trent Community Fund: Core funding, which awards grant money to maintain three elements of community wellbeing - people, places and environment – contributes to our costs over the next 12 months.

This means new uniforms for vulnerable children this autumn, and dignity in their communities.

Thank you Severn Trent Community Fund for standing with us — and with the many families who rely on our support.
